Yesterday was a very important day in the history of Canadian Politics.

Kathleen Wynne an openly gay female politician was elected Premier of Ontario in a general caucus vote. She is the first female to be elected for Premier of Ontario and the first openly gay Premier in Canada. The Liberal party was also voted in with a majority rather than minority. 

“I am so proud to be standing in front of you as the first woman elected in this province, this is a beautiful, inclusive place to live in, Ontario. And I want us every single day to remember that.”

“This is a province, where anyone can be the premier.”

It gives me hope that Olivia Chow can step in and win for Mayor of Toronto. Becoming the third female mayor and the first woman of colour to govern the city. 

I see a positive change on the horizon.
